1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sour milk
Maraschino cherries, halved
Walnut halves
Cream together shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla. Add sour milk. Sift in flour, baking soda and salt.
Drop teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Top some with cherry halves ("girls") and the rest with walnut halves ("boys").
Blame my dad for the parenthetical names on this one.
