Pumpkin Bread

2 cups flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 T baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp nutmeg (OR cloves)
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup shortening

Combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, ginger and nutmeg OR cloves. Add pumpkin, milk, eggs and shortening. Beat, then add remaining flour.

Bake in a greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.

Cool 10 minutes in pan, then remove and cool thoroughly. Wrap and store overnight before serving.
